“Horst Wein and the Beautiful Game are an example of how we can improve not only our young players but ourselves as coaches.  The message is current, player development above winning and I would love to think the timing is right.  As coaches are discovering through self improvement the guided discovery method of coaching it provides us the structure in which to achieve this.  I for one have become a convert and cannot wait to expose my players to its benefits.”

Reina, Youth Director, Ballymahon AFC.

I really enjoyed the seminar by Horst Wein. I am a club coach with Woodlawn Sportslink FC. I coach kids from U7 up to U17. Over the years I have attended a number of coaching courses and I am a member of the NDSL coaches club. I coached the 11-aside game in my club for the last two seasons, but after listening to Horst Wein, I want to go back and coach the small sided game and bring those new ideas he spoke about, of freedom and enjoyment back into the game.

I was a street footballer myself back in my younger days when we all played football for fun, so more than anyone I could appreciate the message Horst was trying to get across.

Richie, Woodlawn Sportslink AFC

I was extremely impressed by the event on Saturday. The enthusiasm and energy shown by Horst was brilliant. The level of detail was exactly what I had hoped for. His ideas and methods will be put to good use next season. Some great insights and thoughts on the game from you (Dermot) also, again I admire your enthusiasm. This is the exact energy and endeavour a youth coach needs. I coach the Malahide United U9 DDSL Saturday team where my focus is on development, fun, skill, teamwork and friendship. We don’t discuss winning or losing but playing as a team and enjoying ourselves. Congratulations on running such a great event.

Karl, Malahide Utd

Thanks for organizing a brilliant seminar. I thoroughly enjoy it and am looking forward to the next one. Well done to all concerned.

Eugene, Lourdes Celtic

“Very interesting talk, that focuses on learning the game well  rather than just about winning the game. If only all six year olds began their career this way then maybe they would reach teenage years loving and appreciating the skills needed, rather than checking their trophy cupboard.  And the same could be said for us coaches too, if truth be told.  Horst was a breath of very fresh and invigorating air”

Ciaran, Portmarnock AFC

The Session from start to finish was both highly informative and very well presented. It was a real ‘eye opener’ seeing someone so experienced and passionate about improving the game of soccer around the world. It’s clear from this one session alone to me at least, that this is the future of football coaching…Looking forward with anticipation to Horst Coaching Clinic in a few months.
